On 9 July 2025 it told a Knesset committee that US incidents had risen 477% over the past year.

ADL counted 1,694 campus incidents in 2024, up 84%
The Anti-Defamation League counted 1,694 antisemitic incidents on US campuses in 2024, 84% more than in 2023. ADL is a monitoring and advocacy organisation, and the count is its own, on its own definitions. The campus count sits inside a national total of 9,354, the highest in the 46 years ADL has tracked incidents.
Since 7 October 2023, ADL has counted certain expressions of opposition to Zionism at protests. By ADL’s own disclosure, that change added 1,350 incidents, 15%, to its 2023 total, and it carries into 2024.

The Ministry told the Knesset US incidents rose 477% in a year
The Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism stated on 9 July 2025 that antisemitic incidents throughout the United States rose 477% over the past year. Its Deputy Director General gave the figure orally to the Knesset’s Committee for Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs. It is the Ministry’s own figure, quoted in the Knesset’s release for “the past year”, with no incident count printed beside it.
The Ministry’s statements to the committee, as the Knesset quotes them:
- On the United States: “an increase of 477% in antisemitic incidents throughout the United States over the past year”
- On Europe: incidents over the past year were “six times as high as in an ordinary year”
- On monitoring: a control centre watching “activists and agents of antisemitism on social media”
- On campuses: “a review every two weeks that places an emphasis on antisemitism on campuses”

47% of Jews aged 18 to 29 told AJC they were targeted
The American Jewish Committee found that 47% of Jewish adults aged 18 to 29 reported being personally targeted by antisemitism in the past year, against 28% of those aged 30 and older. The figures come from its State of Antisemitism in America 2025. The shares are self-reported experiences within AJC’s own survey samples, not incident counts. The age band includes most students, but the sample is of adults, not of students.
Across all American Jews, AJC put the share personally targeted in 2025 at about 31%. That figure includes 3% targeted by a physical attack, 21% by an in-person remark, 5% by vandalism and 21% by an online remark or post. A respondent can fall into more than one category, so the parts do not sum to the 31%.
ADL told the Knesset 66% of Jewish students feel unsafe
A Vice President of the Anti-Defamation League told the same Knesset committee on 9 July 2025 that 66% of Jewish students on campuses feel unsafe. The figure comes from ADL internal surveys. The share is ADL’s own and reaches Israel’s record through the Knesset’s release. It measures feeling unsafe, which is a different question from AJC’s share of those targeted.

No Israeli body here publishes its own count of campus incidents
None of the Israeli records on this page publishes a count of antisemitic incidents on campuses. The Ministry for Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism publishes percentage rises and shares. Its State of Antisemitism Report for 2023 put the rise in on-campus incidents registered in regard to the war at 700% after 7 October 2023. The report is the Ministry’s own count, compiled with the World Zionist Organization and the Jewish Agency from its incident database. The Ministry distributes a review every two weeks with an emphasis on campuses, and the Knesset’s release does not say that the review is published.
