The short version

Reading this site requires nothing from you. There is no account, no login, no paywall and no tracking cookie. The one place you can give us anything is the mailing-list form, and the only thing it asks for is an email address.

What we collect

  • Your email address, if you give it to us. Submitting the mailing-list form sends your address to Resend, the service that stores our subscriber list and sends our messages. We use it to send you a message when a page is published, and for nothing else. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes the address.
  • Ordinary server logs. This site is hosted on Vercel, which records standard request information such as the requested address, the time, and the network address and browser string the request arrived with. That is how any web server works, and it is handled under Vercel’s own terms.

What we do not do

  • We set no cookies of our own, and there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
  • We run no analytics or advertising tag, and no third-party tracking pixel.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade your address, and we do not share the mailing list.
  • We do not build a profile of you, and we do not attempt to identify individual readers.

Third parties we rely on

Two, and only for the functions named above: Vercel hosts and serves the site, and Resend stores the mailing list and delivers our messages. Each holds the data described above under its own terms. We use no other processor.

How long we keep an address

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. There is no other retention period, because the address is the only thing we hold.

Your requests

Ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, and we will do it. Since the only thing we hold is an address you gave us, that request is usually a single deletion. Write to us at the address on the Contact page.

Children

This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect an address from anyone under 13. If you believe we have one, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the effective date above moves. There is no other notice mechanism, so the date is the thing to check.
